The role
The Key Account Manager will be based out of the Sandvik Canning Vale office and will be responsible for managing strategically important customer accounts, developing, maintaining and growing key customer accounts through an effective account management process incorporating the customers’ strategic requirements with value propositions from Sandvik. The focus is to manage the higher level relationships with a view to the medium and longer term aspirations for both the customer and Sandvik. The ability to integrate Sandvik into the customer project and mine planning process is integral to the role.

  • Establishand develop a Key Account Team to achieve objectives in accordance with Sandvik’s business plan.
  • Instigate close relationships with counterparts at all levels in the managed account organisation
  • Create and manage a detailed Account Business Plan for each account
  • Createa Sandvik value offering which aligns with customer strategy
  • Design a service level which adds value to the managed account and, obtain a service level agreement with Business Lines to meet critical success factors.
  • Manage and track the account through the CRM tool
  • Identify and develop medium and long term sales opportunities in units, consumables, service, performance contracts and spare parts, with a view to an increase in market share and proportion of customer spend.
  • Develop budgets by Customer Account & product.
  • Forecast future customer requirements across Sandvik’s product and services portfolio.
Your profile
Formal qualifications in mining, heavy engineering or a business discipline would be well regarded together with a clear and demonstrable history of high achievement within an Account Management environment is critical.
You will be flexible and self-motivated with exceptional customer relations and communication skills. You will have a strong understanding of customers business and processes along with business development experience with demonstrated growth results. Together with a highly developed solution provision ability the successful applicant will be viewed as an integral component in the customer’s interaction with Sandvik. A high level of initiative, drive and determination to achieve goals and set targets to achieve exceptional levels of customer satisfaction is a key driver in the selection for this position.
