Working with IT and Project Management at SMRT, our goal is to take a global responsibility by leading and managing various projects to ensure a high-quality delivery according to project objectives and the guidelines of Sandvik’s Project Model, as well as the framework of the IT landscape.We have a senior project management team but are currently in the early stage of developing and improving our project portfolio to increase control of global IT business projects that contains IT components. We are now looking for a Head of Project Management Office to joinus, and we offer you great possibilities to customize your role, interact in an international environment and influence our strategy to enable future success.
The location for this position is either Sandviken or Kista.
Job Summary
As Head of Project Management Office, you are responsible of delivering quality business programs and projects connected to our IT environment and in accordance with agreed scope, timeline and budget. You lead and develop our project portfolio that plays a central part in business decision-making of prioritized projects. You identify dependencies, capture business needs and manage forecasts – constantly questioning the portfolio content to develop our processes and methods. Leading and coaching a team of project managers, consisting of five direct reports and approximately 20 contracted resources, is an important part of your mission, as is enabling certification and career planning, and allocating relevant resources for projects and other initiatives. You also enable an agile and flexible workforce, support decision-making and suggest opportunities for improvements, while still ensuring the alignment of SMRT’s IT operations as a whole.
You take an active role as a member of the IT Function management team, reporting directly to the Director of IT/IS and Business CIO, and you ensure excellent collaboration within our operations and amongst our stakeholders, both internally and externally, to increase business value.
Your profile
We are looking for an excellent leader, with documented leadership skills, and a business oriented person. You have at least seven years’ experience in managing and coaching project managers, as well as project and portfolio management in the IT area. Working within production, supply chain, aftermarket or sales and focusing on business strategy development and its impact on company IT landscapes is a prerequisite. In addition to the above, you also have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in an area relevant for the position. Previously working with change management is key in being successful in this position, and you have experience from developing IT strategy plans, handling IT costs and managing supplier relations. You also have good understanding of overall IT solutions and applications, and we consider a project management certification as beneficial. As we interact in a global setting, you must have excellent communication skills in English, both in speaking and writing.
