The global Trans4Mine team works with customers to research and plan new projects (includes brownfield expansions/changes or greenfields), and find ways to improve productivity or change manage their way ofworking for existing mines. The group consists of engineers and personnel from varying backgrounds and countries whose broad understanding of customer needs enable them to offer holistic solutions for all types of mines at every stage of operation.

We are searching for a highly experienced mining engineer to join our team and take responsibility in leading Trans4Mine’s projects in Latin America. Main Responsibilities

• To lead projects for our customers in the areas of mine planning and mine optimization. In order to do this the applicant must also project manage teams put together according to expertise and requirements to ensure the best possible outcome for our customer’s profitability and for future Sandvik sales
• To work with sales areas to support their larger tender bids and provide applications advice as and when needed
• To lend expertise to support Product Areas in developing equipment and services for specific applications
  to identify business opportunities for Sandvik offerings during Trans4Mine projects in a timely manner and ensure they are followed up by the relevant sales area.
• To promote Sandvik’s superior application knowledge and experience by writing papers and presenting at conferences, industry bodies (eg CIM or SME) and universities alike.
• Identify business opportunities for Sandvik offerings during Trans4Mine projects in a timely manner and ensure they are followed up by the relevant sales area.
• Use CRM to ensure open communication and collaboration across the organization.
• Promote Sandvik’s applications expertise by authoring papers and presenting at technical conferences.

Technical skills

Knowledge of general office software packages especially excel and powerpoint
Experience with mining software packages from providers such as MineRP, Geovia etc. would be beneficial.
Experience with mine planning, scheduling etc. beneficial.

Your profile

Mining Engineering degree – alternatively Industrial Engineering if enough relevant Mining Industry experience can be proven.

Mining Engineer with a minimum 7 years operational experience and market knowledge. Underground Mining experience is a requirement with familiarity of block caving/sub level caving and long hole open stoping methods.

Employee Qualities

Good people skills with the ability to make complex issues understandable, must feel comfortable dealing with and presenting before people at all levels of hierarchy.

Travel International (mainly latin America) 25% - 50%

Candidate will be part of the global Trans4Mine team who are based all around the world. Depending on scope of each individual customer project a bespoke team will be put together based on required skillset meaning that the candidate will need to be very open and flexible for working with a diverse set of individuals

Languages

Spanish and English Fluency both written and oral.
