WindEurope (formerly EWEA, the European Wind Energy Association) is the voice of the wind industry - actively promoting wind power on behalf of member organizations in Europe and worldwide. Our resources are focused on policy activities, lobbying and supporting our members.
The Web Assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth running of all WindEurope websites and social networks, while also managing digital assets and libraries.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Websites and newsletters
  • Supporting the management and development of WindEurope websites - including, but not restricted to, web design, page layout and front-end coding (HTML/CSS);
  • Work with all WindEurope departments to maintain and update website content, ensuring that all WindEurope websites (including members-only section and project websites) are kept up to date with interesting and attractive content;
  • Write and edit content for windeurope.org and other WindEurope websites when necessary;
  • Analysis and reporting of web statistics;
  • Support the creation and sending of e-newsletters when needed.
Design
Design mock-ups and templates for websites/pages and newsletters;
Social media support such as creation of banners and graphics.
Digital assets
  • Management of both in-house and cloud-based digital libraries;
  • Build and maintain an internal knowledge base (Wiki, etc.);
  • Process pictures and edit videos taken in-house.
General
  • Provide training and support to WindEurope staff around web activities when necessary;
  • Assist the WindEurope Marketing team with their projects and tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
Education: Bachelor degree, preferably in Information Technology, or equivalent by experience.
Programming and software:
  • Proven skills in HTML, CSS & CMS (WordPress is preferred);
  • Ability to edit text online, upload documents, photos, videos, etc.;
  • Proven skills in Photoshop, Illustrator as well as Google Analytics;
  • Knowledge of JavaScript is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of PHP is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization principles;

  • Flexible, ability to multitask, perfectionist and detail-oriented;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and to prioritise tasks;
  • Interest in photography and videography a plus;

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in wind energy an advantage.
Languages:
  • Excellent spoken and written English;
  • Other European languages are an asset.
