Product Area Load & Haul’s Turku plant is a global technology and manufacturing center for loading & hauling equipment for mining and construction industries. The Systems Engineering team within R&D and Product Development organization is now looking for proactive Electrical Engineer (Electric driveline). The position is permanent and based in Turku, Finland.
Key performance areas
You will work on electric systems (24VDC – 1000VAC) of underground loaders and dump trucks. Your main responsibility area includes electric drive motors, related control electronics such as inverters, and secondly, drive batteries and charging systems. Your key task is to work in concept and product development projects ensuring that electrical solutions and components are selected based on facts, according to standards and within given schedules. In the projects, you will work as a team member. In your focus area, you are expected to take a strong role in discussing technical details with internal and external parties. As a secondary task, you will also be involved in hands-on technical aftermarket and production support.
Your profile
You have a suitable educational background in electrics (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) and work experience of electrical design engineering in the area of automotive or mobile equipment. You also have either work experience or at least educational background in drive battery technologies and their implementation in mobile environment. You are used to interpret technical standards and directives. You have hands-on experience of using PDM systems and schematics drawing tools like E3, Vertex etc.
Using your skills and experience you are able to evaluate the suitability of technical solutions and components against the tough mining environment. You are a creative and proactive doer with good team work skills to work together with experts from different engineering areas. You are used to work with both written and spoken English language. Understanding of hydraulics, mechanics and control systems of mobile equipment and machines is a strong bonus.
