Purpose of the Position
Under the general guidance of the Senior Manager (Strategic Partnership Management), this post will maximize income and outreach from fundraising partnerships with Corporate entities. The post will play a critical role in building the relationship with key corporate partners and supporting the management, growth and renewal of these high value partnerships. This post will seek opportunities to build, expand and extend partnerships that generate more than financial support and also contribute to children's rights.
Key Expected Results
1. Manages and maximizes a portfolio of multi-country partnerships with corporates with the objective to achieve fundraising targets and deliver against the non-financial partnership goals, working with the National Committees and Country Offices.
2. Identifies, develops and drives additional opportunities for financial value increase through renewals, or further expansion or extension of the partnerships.
  • Delivers upon the (incremental) income targets from renewals;
  • Reaches the set renewal % rate;
  • Manages an agreed and integrated corporate partnership vision and strategy for the partnerships managed;
  • Develops and implements annual activation plans for all partnerships.
  • 3. Manages successfully all stake-holders with focus on excellence in:
  • Relationship management of the corporate partners;
  • Engagement with the lead- and the activating National Committees and Country Offices;
  • Intra-UNICEF stakeholder coordination – with Program Division, Communication, Contracting and other engagement channels such as CSR, Innovations and Advocacy.
  • 4. Contributes to and coordinates elements necessary for the development and implementation of the UNICEF strategy, and the corporate fundraising plan and targets.
  • Delivers presentations for HQ divisions, National Committees and Country Office staff such as the Forum.
  • Conducts training- and onboarding sessions on the development of alliances with corporates.
  • Supports development of events for corporate partners such as a CEO-breakfast;
  • Enables participation of corporate partners in UNICEF-, UN and other platform meetings.
  • 5. Provides effective leadership to the posts reporting to him/her to achieve the team's outputs as well as the staff's development plans.
  • Establishes clear work-plans for the team members within the overall goals and objectives of PSFR section.
  • Ensures that the allocation of staff time and expertise is in line with priorities to achieve the desired results for the organization and maximizes ROI.
  • Enables the team to provide solid technical support and guidance National Committees, Country Offices and other PFP- and UNICEF units in managing, implementing, growing and renewing corporate partnerships.
  • Delivers timely and quality annual performance appraisals and mid-year reviews.
  • Qualifications of Successful Candidate
  • An advanced university degree (Master's) in Business, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences or related fields.
  • A relevant first level university degree (Bachelor's) in combination with 2 years of additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience in fundraising, commercial or non-commercial account management or marketing of which a minimum of two years is in an international context.
  • A minimum of two years (2) in a supervisory role.
  • A proven track record of working independently and meetingtight deadlines is required.
  • Good commercial awareness and proven business acumen is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
