JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cornell Executive MBA programs offers professionals the opportunity to pursue an MBA while remaining engaged in their careers.
This effort is comprised of three programs:

  • The Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY program that conducts courses on weekends in the metro NY area,
  • The Cornell Executive MBA Americas that delivers educational content via multi-point videoconferencing to boardroom sites in select cities across North and South America.
  • The Johnson-Weill Cornell Joint Executive MBA-MS Program that conducts weekend courses in New York City focusing on business management in the healthcare sector.
The Senior Director of Admission and Marketing is an integral member of the Executive MBA team. S/he will work collaboratively with the Associate Dean for Executive Programs, the Assistant Dean for Executive MBA Programs, the Sr. Director of Operations, and other members of the EMBA team to set overall strategy for the direction of the EMBA programs and achieve ambitious recruiting targets. S/he leads a team of five employees split between Ithaca and New York City. As such, the ability to manage remotely will be critical to the success of this position.

This Senior Director is responsible for enrollment management which focuses on developing the recruiting and admissions strategy for all Executive MBA programs. She/he is responsible for hiring and managing an effective team to execute this strategy, including presentation materials, entry into new markets, admissions application and prospective student management, social media and website management, open houses, networking and information session events, admissions decisions, and making the final recruiting close. The Sr. Director will interview candidates, coordinate the admissions committee, and make final decisions on applications.

Responsibilities include contributing to the strategy for overall program excellence in terms of curriculum and faculty, extra-curricular activities, services and support. S/he will also advise on plans for program development, re-configuration and/expansion.
The Senior Director holds ultimate responsibility for all three EMBA programs. On a daily basis, s/he will manage the operational admissions and enrollment activities for the Americas program while supervising staff who focus on the Metro New York and Johnson-Weill programs. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a complex & ambiguous environment is essential.
The Senior Director will work collaboratively with the Johnson School Marketing department to oversee, coordinate and approve all elements of the advertising and promotional campaign for Executive MBA programs. S/he will manage and approve spending in the Executive MBA marketing budget, develop and implement communication plans targeted to inquirers, applicants, alumni, and other prospects. In coordination with the Marketing group, s/he will also work with external companies and contractors to manage outsourced advertising and social media initiatives The Sr. Director will also work collaboratively with other internal departments to enhance EMBA programs including Alumni Affairs & Development, Career Management Center, Office of Diversity & Inclusion, and Residential MBA Admissions.

This position will be located in New York City and will require travel to the Ithaca campus and other EMBA boardroom class locations throughout the Americas. The Senior Director will also make regular visits to the IBM Palisades Executive Conference Center 15 miles north of Manhattan where Metro New York EMBA classes are held on weekends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience or equivalent required, in a fast-paced business environment along with excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the demonstrated ability to make high quality oral presentations and give direction/advice to mid-career senior business managers. Experience leading small teams is required. A strong service orientation and high-touch approach in managing program prospects and applicants is important to achieving success in this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer at least 7 years of experience, with a background or education in business management, and a graduate degree. Fluency in Spanish would be a significant advantage.
