Lawyers (Course Directors) in European Company and Criminal Law

Would you like to work at the cutting edge of European law, helping judges, lawyers and other legal professionals to put the latest developments into practice?

The Academy of European Law is the leading partner of the European institutions, national administrations and professional associations in continuing professional training in European law.

We are looking for

a Lawyer (Course Director)
with a special interest in European company law, banking and financial services

a Lawyer (Course Director)
with a special interest in European criminal law

Your job will be to prepare and run training courses, organise high-level conferences and develop e-learning modules targeted at practitioners of European law (such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers in private practice, in-house counsel).

You will have an excellent knowledge of European law, good networking and communication skills and be fluent in at least two of ERA’s three working languages (English, French and German). Professional experience of legal practice would be an advantage. Native English-speakers and lawyers with a common law background are particularly encouraged to apply.

We can offer you a competitive salary and private pension insurance scheme, the opportunity to work closely with the top experts in European law, and the chance to be part of a dynamic, multi-national team.

The posts are for an initial fixed term of two years, after which an indefinite contract may be offered. The normal place of work is the city of Trier in Germany, just over the border from the EU's judicial capital in Luxembourg, and regular travel is part of the job.

If you feel attracted by the idea of working in a genuine European team and of promoting European law among European lawyers, please send us your CV, references and a motivation letter (preferably by e-mail) – indicating your salary expectations (applications without this information cannot be accepted) – in one of the Academy’s working languages by 28 February 2011 to:
