Background
Oxfam’s purpose is to work with others to overcome poverty and suffering around the world and in Rwanda we focus on the promotion of sustainable livelihoods opportunities and women’s empowerment through enterprise development in agriculture. We are currently recruiting for some exciting positions within our team in Kigali as follows:

Logistics and IT Officer (REF- RWALIO)
Reporting to the Finance and Systems Manager, you are responsible for effective supply chain management and logistics systems in the Kigali Office, ensuring that Oxfam’s programme is able to maintain high-level of support to our development programme. You are responsible for designing and delivering a national logistics strategy to ensure that the basics of logistics are in place, as well as ensuring the successful delivery of the regional and corporate strategies at country level. You will need to influence high-level management within Oxfam to adopt new policies and to retain discipline to policies already in place. Your initial focus is to strengthen existing logistics procedures and supply chain management, to manage our significant assets as well as our vehicle fleet more effectively, to ensure programme team and partners understand the importance and value of logistics to achieve their objectives.

What we are looking for
You know that nothing works without logistics in any kind of programming. You are a crucial interface between programme and support teams. You must be a highly motivated and results-orientated logistics specialist seeking a real challenge, with experience managing the risks associated with logistics in similar environments. It is essential that you bring strong leadership qualities and substantial experience of effective people management in a similar working environment and preferably with international organisations, as well as the ability to provide effective support to a diverse team. You must enjoy and excel in the development and motivation of staff, and must be able to communicate effectively to different audiences in English, Kinyarwanda or French, both verbally and in written form. You will bring with you a proven ability to work under pressure, to organize a high workload efficiently and to coach the programme team to confidently make decisions – ensuring the team have the knowledge of how to access relevant logistical information. You are comfortable in coordinating Information Systems support with back-up and technical support from the Oxfam Regional Centre.
