Description:
The ABA Rule of Law Initiative is currently recruiting for a Country Director for its programs in Azerbaijan. This position will be based in the ROLI field office in Baku, Azerbaijan and will commence as soon as possible. The Country Director will report directly to the Europe and Eurasia Director based in Washington, D.C.

Primary duties will be to guide the implementation of programs, proposal and program development, management of program budget and finance issues and management of international and national staff. The Azerbaijan program promotes rule of law through a diverse technical assistance program covering criminal law reform, access to justice, civic education, anti-trafficking, human rights and media rights. Partners on the ground in Baku include government stakeholders, a wide range of civil society actors and educational institutions, including law schools. The Country Director coordinates assistance with the USG donors and other international implementers.

Qualification:
The ideal candidate will have direct experience on rule of law issues preferably in the Europe and Eurasia region. Applicants must have a J.D. or foreign equivalent and seven to ten years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have Chief of Party experience managing US Government donor-funded international legal reform programs. Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations preferred.
