Description:

The Institute for New Democracies is a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting good governance, democratic practices, human rights, civil liberties and the rule of law in countries undergoing political transformation. IND is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington, DC.

IND is seeking a full-time intern to join the Washington, DC team beginning in June 2011. The intern will participate in a variety of activities that support individual programs, including research, writing, and project development.

Qualification:

- Applicants should have a relevant course of study and have completed coursework in any of the following fields: History, International Relations, Economics, Political Science, Security Studies

- Must be at least a college junior in good standing, an advanced student or a recent graduate

- Must be eligible to work in the United States

- Russia language a plus
