Clinical Research Fellow in Cardiology (Heartcycle)

A research fellow is required to support a large  programme on telemonitoring for heart failure. Within the programme, the  fellow will be expected to lead a clinical calibration protocol for  non-invasive equipment that may be used for home telemonitoring. The  applicant will be required to be or become proficient in  echocardiography, bio-impedance, DEXA scanning, pulse-wave analysis and  lung function testing. The programme will also require leadership in  projects related to home telemonitoring for heart failure and for  rehabilitation after myocardial infarction.
The successful  candidate will play a key role in the development of one of the largest  heart failure clinical and research service in Europe. The research  programme could lead to an MD thesis and several ‘first-author’ papers.
Applicants  should have full GMC registration, previous cardiology experience and  must have obtained MRCP (UK) or equivalent. Those who wish to pursue a  career in cardiology will be preferred.
