Maternity Cover: Salary : £40,484 to £46,897 p.a. inclusive

The Library is at the heart of LSE, one of the world's greatest social science universities, and serves a vibrant community of students and staff in the centre of London. An opportunity has arisen for a confident, self-motivated individual with proven HR and financial management skills to join our busy and dynamic Library Administration service for up to one year on maternity cover.

This is a business critical role providing financial reporting and support to the Library Leadership Team (LLT) in managing the staff and non-staff budgets. As well as providing valuable first line HR advise to managers and team leaders, handling recruitment procedures (latest post attracted 400+ applications), this role manages the day to day functions of the administration office supporting front line service delivery and by association the student experience. This post also plays a pivotal role in supporting the LLT in delivering the Library strategy and planning use of resources.

You will lead and motivate a team of four staff and be proactive in maintaining and further developing a high level of service. The post also involves considerable Human Resources administration and close liaison with the School's Human Resources and Payroll departments.

You must demonstrate previous relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in higher education, and possess good team leadership qualities. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate well at all levels. Your confident IT skills will include the ability to learn to use new software applications. Previous HR experience is essential as is experience of budget management.
