Internship in the TI-S Governance Unit
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
The Governance Unit is responsible for the internal governance of the global organisation at the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) and it facilitates the development of and helps ensure a strong, integer and relevant TI Movement that fulfils its mission efficiently and in full abidance with the values that it promotes, and in respect of the diversity and high independence of its constituents.
Main function: TI's internal governance issues and Accreditation process
Starting date: 1 June 2012
Duration: three months; full time Monday to Friday
Department: Governance Unit
Reporting lines: Reports to Governance Coordinator
Remuneration: EUR 400 (according to the German labour and social security law)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Key tasks:
- Assist in the design of assessment tools and governance protocols, as well as logistical preparations ahead of TI’s international Annual Membership Meeting (scheduled to take place in mid October 2011 in Berlin).
- Support the Unit work in maintaining TI's internal governance including optimisations in the implementation of the accreditation process
- Assistance in the correspondence with TI partners throughout the world.
Knowledge, experience, interests and skills:
- Formatting and Automated processing of Evaluation questionnaires (e.g. for marketing or other survey purposes)
- fluent English
- Solid web and computer skills (e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access).
- German as an advantage
- Prior office experience is required
- Experience in conference organising as an advantage
