Salary: USD 39,480 – USD 43,056

Duration of contract: Two-year fixed-term contract, with potential to extend subject to project need and funding availability
Location: The position is based at Fauna & Flora International’s Phnom Penh office with regular travel to project sites in the Tonle Sap basin

FFI is seeking a highly competent individual to provide technical specialist inputs to Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP) development under USAID-HARVEST in the Tonle Sap basin, Cambodia.

The successful candidate will be experienced in NTFP development in Southeast Asia, with a minimum of four years’ experience in natural resource management, conservation, or a related sector. S/he will have an MSc, or equivalent level qualification, in a relevant discipline. S/he will have demonstrable experience engaging with government and local partners at all levels. Ideally the successful candidate will have good technical understanding of NTFP value chain development (specifically on bamboo and rattan) and building capacity of local communities at the household level and working with women and women’s groups in particular, through extension visits. S/he will be responsible for identifying lead clients in the field, establishing demonstration sites and managing technical support via extension programs. S/he will have a good understanding of key concepts such as agro-forestry, tropical habitat restoration, watershed management and other forestry-based livelihood activities. Ideally s/he will be able to speak confidently on technical concepts with diverse audiences.

The individual must have a commitment to working in partnership with national staff and local communities to address key environmental issues.
