Salary: USD 39,480 – USD 43,056
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration of contract: Two-year fixed-term contract, with potential to extend subject to project need and funding availability
Location: The position is based at Fauna & Flora International’s Phnom Penh office with regular travel to project sites in the Tonle Sap basin

FFI is seeking a highly competent agro-ecologist to provide technical specialist inputs to our agro-forestry and community forestry activities under USAID-HARVEST in the Tonle Sap basin, Cambodia.

The successful candidate will be experienced in ecologically sensitive agro-forestry initiatives, with a minimum of four years’ experience in natural resource management, conservation, forestry, or a related sector. S/he will have an MSc, or equivalent level qualification, in a relevant discipline. S/he will have demonstrable experience engaging with government, and local partners at all levels. The successful candidate will have a good technical understanding of what is needed to initiate and build agro-forestry activities working with local communities at a household level within agrarian and forested tropical landscapes. S/he will have a good knowledge and understanding of key concepts such as integrated watershed management, development of non-timber forest products and tropical forestry. Ideally s/he will be able to speak confidently on technical concepts with diverse audiences.

The individual must have a commitment to working in partnership with national staff and local communities to address key environmental issues.
