OPERATIONS OFFICER (GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT)
PROJECTS DEPARTMENT

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is seeking to recruit a national from its Member Countries to fill the position of Operations Officer (Gender and Development) (OO-GAD) in the Social Sector Division of the Projects Department.

CDB is a multi-lateral development finance institution that works in collaboration with its Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs) to promote sustainable, social and economic development within these countries and economic cooperation and integration among them.

The Role

The OO-GAD, will be accountable for the mainstreaming of gender equality concerns throughout the Bank’s operations, internally through the establishment of mechanisms of accountability and the maintenance and implementation of appropriate standards, and externally by providing policy advice to the BMCs and maintaining dialogue with the Bank’s development partners, including civil society organizations.

In this regard, the responsibility of the OO-GAD includes:

  • performing a lead role inthe implementation and revision of the Bank's Gender Equality Policy and Operational Strategy;
  • the provision of policy guidance and technical advise on gender equality issues; and
  • supervision of institutional and regulatory aspects of gender equality on all assigned projects, including responsibility for enlarging awareness, knowledge and competencies on the management of gender issues within the Bank.

    The Candidate
  • Eligible candidates should have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualifications in the Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender and Development or other relevant disciplines.

  • Candidates should have a minimum of five yars' regional or international experience working in the social or economic sectors including poverty reduction.

  • The successful candidate must be willing to live and work in Barbados.
