People Business Partner - West and Southern Africa regions

Location: Vauxhall, London (or within the regions)
Salary: Circa £37,000 per annum

Are you a good coach and mentor who can build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and influence at senior levels?

Do you have the skills to help an award-winning global organisation achieve an ambitious five-year strategy that aims to double its income to £100 million and bring water and sanitation facilities to 25 million people by 2015?

Could you help us develop new and courageous people management practices, and build a high performing environment where our talented global team can reach their full potential?

WaterAid is strengthening its People and Organisational Development Team to align our resource to specific business areas and develop our strategic approaches to talent management, all supported by stronger people systems. This is a new position within the team.

In a role that covers two of our regions, West and Southern Africa, you'll develop a deep understanding of the regions' priorities, challenges and people; partnering with senior managers and country HR teams to ensure that country plans are achieved through effective people strategies and great management. You'll advise and coach on complex issues, and support country teams to create working environments where they can perform to the highest levels.

We're looking for someone with extensive HR generalist experience at both operational and strategic levels, with sound judgement and influencing skills. Customer and solutions focussed, you’ll have an appreciation of people management in a global context. You're fluent in English but French or Portuguese would be a distinct advantage. A keen interest in our work is essential.
