Senior Manager: Project Finance , Juwi Holdings

Senior Manager: Project Finance (m/f)

The key focus of this Cape Town-based role is responsibility for the successful sale and financing of our South African wind energy and photovoltaic projects. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating with banks, investors and JV partners
  • Cooperating closely with our internal project development teams in South Africa as well as in Germany
  • Calculating profitability and economic viability of potential and existing projects including both own-developed projects as well as third party projects (ie buying project rights)
  • Preparing and coordinating due diligence
  • Coordinating the signing and closing of finance documentation
  • Handling responsibility for the fulfilment of all conditions precedent, as well as reporting requirements under the financing agreements until the end of the construction phase
  • Conducting research for respective financial, tax and legal aspects within the renewable energy market in South Africa.

Requirements:

  • A university degree in Finance/Economics with a strong background in Project Finance, Structured Finance or M&A
  • At least 5-7 years’ professional experience in project finance, structured finance or M&A within a bank or investment institution
  • Capability to build up reliable investment networks with the relevant players in the renewable energy markets in South Africa and internationally
  • Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and team-working skills
  • An intercultural understanding and the ability to work in an international environment
  • Self-motivation, a hands-on mentality and the ability to work under pressure
  • Very good capability in the use of MS Office and Excel
  • Fluency in English. The ability to speak German would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel within South Africa and occasionally internationally.
