Consultant Vocational Training

Hagar Cambodia is now looking for the passionate and qualified expatriate to fulfill a position as “House of Smiles Vocational Training Consultant” for the House of Smiles Programme based in Phnom Penh. Hagar will cover the costs of a working visa.

MAIN SCOPES OF WORK
• Develop, review, refine and finalise prevocational skills development framework for young people with intellectual disabilities

• Responsible to assess current levels of skill in training students with disabilities

• Deliver prevocational and vocational training methods to House of Smiles staff, related NGO staff, local teachers and Government officials and using of appropriate resources

• Conduct informal research on work opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities

• Network with businesses in Phnom Penh to find work experience opportunities and work placements

• Place and support young people with intellectual disabilities in work experience opportunities where possible

• Review program and outcomes of work experience replacements

• Identify support needs of potential employers and young adults with intellectual disabilities

• Develop a post work placement support program, based on finding from work experience program and review outcomes of work placement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• A recognized professional special education teaching qualification or substantial training and experience
• 2 or 3 years experience in the Special Education Field
• Good conversational and written English and Khmer(if possible)
• Program Management Skills
• Excellent relational skills, especially in a cross cultural environment
• Leadership ability, proven program management skills, strong strategic thinker
• Strong team player with a willingness to contribute to the wellbeing of the team and project
• Solution seeking (sees problem as opportunities)
