Position Summary | | | The mobile phone and other mobile devices are emerging as versatile platforms for a new generation of consumer-oriented applications. SISA’s Advanced Technology Lab is researching core technologies focusing on mobile user-targeting, to enable highly personalized mobile devices and their services. The ideal candidate for this position will have deep scientific knowledge background and professional experiences on efficient, low-power, and real-time system design and implementation on mobile embedded systems. Duties include research, design, and development of core software technologies to optimize existing system and middleware-level software components while meeting requirements from user (QoS: latency, etc.) and constrained mobile resources.

| Common Essential Duties & Resp. | | | • Model, design, implement a low-power, real-time embedded system software and middleware for mobile platform. • Provide technical leadership for efficient low-power, real-time systems design, and their implementation. • Collaborate with other (international, headquarter) teams for technical innovation and for best technological advance.

| Necessary Skills / Attributes | | | • PhD in computer science or engineering (on embedded / operating system), or Masters in computer science with 3-5 years of relevant experience. • 3+ years’ academic or professional experience on Linux kernel-level code implementation. • Experience with applying low-power, real-time, reliable design and implementation on mobile devices. • Proficient in C/C++, Java, or other language for a mobile computing environment. • Experience with developing system or middleware-level technologies and applications for mobile devices. • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work with an international team to deliver rapid prototypes.
