The GAVI Alliance is seeking a dynamic and exceptional individual to fill the position of Deputy Director, Programme Funding Team.
In this capacity, you will manage key strategic resource mobilisation projects and develop best-practice donor portfolio management to secure higher levels of funding for GAVI from current and new donors. You will have the opportunity to structure and arrange new funding windows looking at ways to support new vaccine development. You will also lead the development of a donor portfolio management framework ensuring effective instruments are in place to manage, forecast and track donor commitments. You will also be responsible for advising and empowering a team of 11 staff to build new public and private donor relationships and play a promotional role in generating new businesses.

Alongside an advanced degree in finance or other relevant fields, you will bring a solid track record in fundraising with international, public and private sector sources and hands-on experience in the management of major replenishment mechanisms in the international aid environment. You will have highly developed project management skills and will demonstrate an ability to contribute to broad, high level strategic resource mobilisation dialogue in a creative environment. You also have the ability to articulate policy issues, trade-offs and priorities to provide sound advice. You are an innovative thinker who can represent the Alliance in donor meetings and other fora. Lastly you should be able to operate effectively in a multicultural environment and have at least 9 years of related work experience.
