An unincorporated joint venture between Rustenburg Platinum Mines Limited and ARM Mining Consortium Limited
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of SHEQ Leader, reporting to the Business Leader (General Manager) at Modikwa Platinum Mine, situated in the Eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex near Burgersfort.
Requirements: • A relevant degree or National Diploma in SHEQ Management • A valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket) • A minimum of 3 years’ SHEQ mining managerial experience • Recognised Safety qualifications such as COMSOC/SAMTRAC • Sound knowledge of all relevant SHE and Environmental Acts • Business understanding • The ability to communicate, motivate and build relationships at all levels of the organisation • High energy levels and an assertive personality • A proactive management style • Occupational Health and Hygiene management experience.
Duties and responsibilities: • Coordinate a spirit of cooperation regarding safety within the business • Provide regular support to the Business Leaders regarding technical matters relating to safety • Implement and maintain applicable Health and Safety Regulations, the Act, Codes of Practice and Standards • Conduct benchmarking internally and externally to verify health and safety policies, practices and standards • Manage team effectiveness by establishing interactions between team members • Assess risk and its impact on the Company • Manage environmental impacts arising from mining activities • Report on environmental issues to the Business Leader and external authorities, as directed • Liaise with interested and affected parties on environmental issues, as directed • Plan risk requirements and priorities within the business • Manage legal compliance.
