PlaNet Finance in the Middle East
PlaNet Finance Middle East manages microfinance programs in many countries of the region: Egypt, Oman, Lebanon, Bahrain, Syria, and Palestinian Territories... PlaNet Finance Middle East is composed of 3 permanent offices:
• PlaNet Finance Egypt: This office is the coordinating office for PlaNet Finance Middle East activities and is dedicated to the development of microfinance sector in Egypt. It also aims at developing a range of expertise in the region.
• PlaNet Finance Palestinian Territories: This office is dedicated to the development of microfinance program in the Palestinian Territories, with specific political and economic conditions.
• PlaNet Finance Dubai: The office is in charge of fundraising for the development of the microfinance sector in the region.
Job description
Context: project starting in September 2012, aiming to develop and pilot a micro-insurance product and a micro credit product for small farmers in the horticulture sector in Upper Egypt
> Project Coordinator for agri business and agri lending project
? Coordinating and supervising the implementation of the activities of a 18 months project related to the development of micro credit and micro insurance for horticulture sector in Egypt
? Ensuring the effective participation of the project partners in the project implementation (Financial Institutions, Microfinance NGOs, Banks, Agricultural Research Center)
? Coordinating with PF Group entities contributing to the project (Planet Guarantee)
? Ensuring respect of internal as well as donors’ procedures in project implementation
? Participating to the draft of deliverables in collaboration with Microfinance Senior Experts
? Participating to financial and technical reporting for the donor
? Monitoring the project expenditures according to the budget and produce the financial reporting
? Contributing to local communication actions linked to the project
? Organising and participating to different project comities
? Updating reporting linked to activities
> Contribution to PlaNet Finance Middle East development
? Support the team in identifying opportunities for new partnerships and projects
? Participating in the design of new projects
? Drafting proposals for different donors
? Following submitted proposals
Qualifications
? Master (Economics, Finance, Political Sciences…..)
? Minimum of 2 years Experience in microfinance and micro enterprise
? Candidates with experience in agri sector will be preferred
? Minimum of 5 years in project coordination
? Strong organization and analytical skills
? Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, oral/presentation) for internal and external reporting
? Ability to operate in a cross-cultural working environment
? Ability to work under high pressure
? Ability to work in a team and be able to work with autonomy
? Ability to travel within Egypt and the region (around 25% of the time)
? Fluency in English and Arabic – ability to work in both languages (both written and spoken)
Conditions
> Statut : Local contract for Egyptian candidates or International Junior Expat contract (VSI) for non Egyptian candidates
> Duration : 12 month minimum (1st September 2012)
> Compensation: Based on Planet Finance salary grid
> Localization : Cairo, Egypt
