Director of Global Quality Management (full-time position)

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), based in Los Angeles, California, is a worldwide leader in providing innovative HIV/AIDS prevention programs and services and an expert in tackling new challenges of the epidemic. This includes advocacy, HIV testing, condom promotion & distribution, and providing medical care and treatment to thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS in 26 countries in Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Africa. From its Global Program Office in Amsterdam AHF coordinates its global operations. Summary of Responsibilities Under direction of the Senior Vice President, the Director of Global Quality Management will develop, coordinate, and ensure excellent standards of clinical care in accordance with AHF’s medical and administrative policies and procedures, for all global medical programs. This position is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee and support implementation of organizational care management, monitoring & evaluation, and quality improvement plans
• In coordination with the Global Technical Team and in-country quality teams, develop and coordinate the global monitoring and evaluation plan that allows critical programmatic decisions to be data-driven and
evidence-based
• Monitor global clinical quality including performance of physicians and deliverables such as essential HIV treatment standards
• Develop and modify standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for improved outcomes in clinical operations and support Senior Medical Advisor in ensuring adherence to SOPs at clinic level
• Develop the capacity of global clinical staff in best practices for HIV care.
• Assess and recommend standards of care for patients, including appropriate use of new treatment technologies
• Participate, develop, and coordinate Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs; develop and mentor medical and operational research activities including development of presentations on updated clinical
care practices
• Participate in bureau-level clinical case teleconferences with ability to offer expert advice and mentorship on contextually relevant best HIV clinical practices
• Review and provide critique for abstracts submitted to conferences and scientific journals
• Guide and provide medical input for grants
• Represent AHF in the capacity of global clinical HIV expert in collaborations with Ministries of Health, USAID, Global Fund, NGOs and other partners, as needed
• Collaborate with Chief of Medicine-US, Bureau Chiefs from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America and the Global Technical Team on general clinical practices, policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
• Medical Degree (M.D) or equivalent
• Masters of Public Health with focus on international programs
• Must have at least 2 years of HIV/AIDS clinical experience
• Must have international work experience

Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
• Ability to speak, read and write proficiently in English
• Fluency in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software
• Ability to navigate and conduct research on the Internet
• Demonstrated ability in medical writing and record of publications
• Ability to interact with senior management and private, non-profit and government sectors
• Availability outside of regular office hours for activities and meetings, as needed

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
• Valid licensure as a medical doctor in country of origin
• Valid DEA certificate or equivalent
Possess a valid passport and able to travel internationally (position requires up to 50% travel time)
