British Red Cross Logistics Officer

The British Red Cross helps vulnerable people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual crises. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand crises in their own communities. When the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.

As part of a small core logistics team based in the British Red Cross UK Office in London, the post holder will play a key role in the procurement and delivery of emergency relief and longer-term recovery supplies. The role will involve: providing technical support, evaluation and capacity building; delivering training in the UK and overseas; responding directly to emergencies worldwide as a member of a Logistics Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and/or Field Assessment and Coordination Team (FACT); and providing specialist response in the event of UK emergencies.

The post holder will help provide logistical support to the BRC’s and the Movement’s emergency response and recovery programmes, working both within the UK Office and internationally. He/She will also respond to UK emergencies, and in doing so, facilitate the BRC in meeting its core objective as an emergency response organisation in the UK and overseas.
