Closing Date: 14th September 2012 Job Purpose Delivers insights into the Engineering business through the development of business reports, trend and statistical analysis of operational data, benchmarking and market intelligence, supporting strategic and operational decisions. Job Dimensions/Measures Part of a team that Influences Engineering’s revenue targets of up to £120m through supporting and influencing business efficiency improvements. No direct reports
- Provides company profiles of key competitors and strategic business partners updating the market intelligence database with the latest competitor information
- Delivers the performance monitoring process for all business areas, providing insight on current business performance, highlights issues and opportunities, leading to actions to deliver Engineering revenue, efficiencies and performance targets
- Delivers statistical analysis on both strategic and tactical issues to drive informed debate and effective decision making for Engineering resulting in improved contribution to BA
- Develops and delivers benchmarking analysis to assess Engineering’s performance with market best practice through an activity based costing approach
- Supports the delivery of campaign/trial business cases and evaluation of activity to agreed best practice
- Inputs to monthly financial reviews and forecasting, proposing focus areas and key messages in agreement with stakeholders
- Manages his or her own portfolio of work using good project and time management practices
- Rostered to be on call for out of hours support during disruption
Skills - Design, development and testing of business reporting using SQL, Business Objects and other software tools
- Excellent analytical skills in both financial and operational data

Essential Qualifications - Level 4 Business qualification or proven numerical aptitude in a similar role
Experience - Analysis and interpretation of complex data

- Proven ability to learn
Expertise - Good knowledge of Engineering procedures and processes
- Advanced IT data skills in data extraction from both corporate warehouses and SAP
- Statistical analysis of data
- LEAN/Six Sigma experience desirable
