Chemonics seeks a data analyst for the ongoing USAID-funded Firms project in Pakistan, which will implement a workforce development program in three targeted locations of Karachi: Sultanabad, Lyrai, and Korangi. The project will conduct a quantitative and qualitative study to determine the sectors facing labor shortages and factors restraining the acquisition of vocational skills. The data analyst will enter survey data into computer software and apply various statistical analysis tools. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop a data analysis plan describing the statistical tools and tests applied on data
- Develop appropriate entry program in Microsoft Access and any other relevant software for data entry and perform random checks to ensure quality of entered data
- Perform data cleaning on the entered information to ensure that it is free of error and reflects the data gathered through questionnaires before data analysis
- Undertake a detailed analysis of the data collected in SPSS or other relevant software
- Provide descriptive statistics for all variables and inferential statistics for planned comparisons included in the data analysis plan
- Contribute a statistical report with sufficient narrative content to facilitate understanding and utilization by those with limited statistical background
- Seek necessary guidance from the team leader
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in statistics required; advanced degree in business administration or relevant field preferred
- Minimum five years of professional relevant experience in data analysis, application of statistical tools, and interpreting data
- Excellent command over SPSS and other statistical software/data analysis applications
- Microsoft Access proficiency required
- Excellent understanding of survey methodology
- Excellent writing skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- English fluency required
