Passionate about developing and implementing solutions for hidden hunger, the Micronutrient Initiative (MI) works in partnership with governments, the private sector and civil society organizations to address micronutrient deficiency and related health and nutrition problems in underserved populations. Governed by an international Board of Directors, MI works in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East and reaches people in more than 75 countries. With headquarters in Ottawa, Canada MI maintains regional offices in New Delhi, India and Dakar, Senegal that manage our country offices in Asia and Africa. Director, Program Services – Job #: PTS004
The overall goal of this position is to lead the Program Services Unit, with responsibility for
- maintaining an effective knowledge base on all MI programming
- coordinating accountability and reporting to MI’s main donors
- global procurement of micronutrient commodities and work on product development

Responsibilities will include:
  1. Knowledge Management: Lead desk reviews and analyses of e.g. MI progress by country, by intervention etc to support executive management decision making
2. Donor Accountability and Reporting: Manage the compilation and submission of reports and other information required by MI's major donors Project Implementation and Monitoring in Haiti
3. Lead the work of Program Services Unit: Develop and propose plans and budgets for Program Services Unit for inclusion in annual PWB LAC Human Resource/Office Management
4. Program Assessment: Maintain an up to date understanding of the situational assessments of the VMD worldwide
5. Policy, planning & budgeting, project and proposal development
Requirements include:
· Post graduate university degree in a relevant field
· 15 years experience in international development, 10 years of management level experience
· At least 5 years experience in a developing country
· Fluency in English
· Requires broad understanding of health and development approaches and delivery strategies; including concepts of impact and cost effectiveness
· Understanding of specific considerations in the operating environment of sub-Saharan Africa and S/ SE Asia in particular;
· Excellent program management skills including strong analytical skills, and experience in strategic, operational and program planning and budgeting
· Strong financial management skills
