Program Manager, Latin America & Caribbean Micronutrient Initiative Ottawa, Canada

Passionate about developing and implementing solutions for hidden hunger, the Micronutrient Initiative (MI) works in partnership with governments, the private sector and civil society organizations to address micronutrient deficiency and related health and nutrition problems in underserved populations. Governed by an international Board of Directors, MI works in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East and reaches people in more than 75 countries. With headquarters in Ottawa, Canada MI maintains regional offices in New Delhi, India and Dakar, Senegal that manage our country offices in Asia and Africa. Program Manager, Latin America & Caribbean – Job #: PTS003
The overall goal of this position is to provide technical and managerial support to MI's existing programs in Latin America and to build the portfolio of MI's activities in the region, focusing on technical support for the design, monitoring and evaluation of interventions to improve micronutrient intake, status and related outcomes.
Responsibilities will include:
  1. Manage relationships with key stakeholders and lead resource development within LAC
  2. Project Implementation and Monitoring in Bolivia
  3. Project Implementation and Monitoring in non-core countries
4. Project Implementation and Monitoring in Haiti
5. Technical Advisory and Communications for other LAC programs
6. LAC Human Resource/Office Management
Requirements include:
· Advanced University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or Health Policy
· At least 10 years’ experience in the design, implementation and/or evaluation of micronutrient and/or nutrition programs in the Region
· Experience in an International agency, NGO, academic institution or governmental health sector (in Latin America)
· Solid track record of publication in policy, scientific or other peer reviewed journals
· Fluency in Spanish and English
Candidates should also have experience in at least one of the following:
· Health and/or Maternal & Child Health program management
· Senior level advocacy, diplomacy and partnership building
· Results Based Management
