Located in the Laverton region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia's Sunrise Dam is one of Western Australia's premier gold mines. This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces approximately 350,000 oz of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

We are now seeking an Electrical Coordinator to join our Maintenance team at Sunrise Dam.

Accountable to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role is responsible for the co-ordination of maintenance resources to ensure maximum efficiency and plant utilisation.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all staff, including contractors, are supervised, trained and developed to their full potential in a manner consistent with the company's vision, philosophy and business objectives.
  • Assist with the management of work plans on a daily, weekly and monthly basis including shutdown planning, scheduling and execution.
  • Liaise with stores personnel to ensure timely arrival of spare parts and equipment.
  • PLC and Citect Programming.
  • Assist with the production of period reports detailing planned versus actual maintenance activities and resource usage.
  • To liaise closely with metallurgical and maintenance personnel on safety, plant performance and technical issues with the aim of optimising plant performance, increasing ease of operation and eliminating existing and potential hazards and problems.
  • To work with the maintenance team in a "hands on" capacity, that is carrying out electrical maintenance work when called on to do so.
  • Actively review systems and procedures regularly within your area to maximise effectiveness and efficiency within the Company.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Electrical Nominee Licensee registered with the Electrical Licensing Board. Hold a WA "A" grade electrical workers licence, endorsed Electrical fitter and/or Electrical Mechanic. Dual trade as a Instrument Technician desirable but not essential
  • Extensive industry experience required in the maintenance of mineral processing or heavy industrial plants.
  • Experience in a supervisory role of a multi faceted team of tradespeople.
  • Experience with maintenance planning/scheduling software.
  • The capability for lifting, bending, climbing (stairs), intricate hand work, crouching, working at heights
  • A high degree of literacy is essential.

This position will require a ‘hands on' approach and someone who is a self starter with excellent leadership skills.
