Financial Management Analyst Location: United States

Position Summary

Futures Group has an opening for a Financial Analyst within the Financial Management department. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting in the development of annual work plans and pipeline budgets, reviewing budgets and financial reports for accuracy, and other ad hoc financial requests as needed. Using strong interpersonal and communication skills and additional analytical skills, the incumbent will develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients with a strong focus on customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembles, formats, and maintains budget/financial information for new, existing, and ending contracts.
  • Analyzes posted cost and revenue to actuals posted. Researches issues and initiates AP, GL and revenue adjustments as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of budget realignments, narrations, and justifications.
  • Creates/modifies budget spreadsheet templates in accordance with individualized project requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with government contracting regulations.
  • Performs the initial job setup function and on-going project maintenance within the corporate accounting system.
  • Generates monthly project accruals
  • Works collaboratively with technical staff on project forecasting
  • Administers project reconciliations by ledger account
  • Some travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position requires educational achievement, the ability to work with complex data, attention to detail, demonstrable initiative and flexibility, the ability to work independently and effectively in groups, and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements include:

  • Must enjoy working with diverse cultures and staff from around the world.
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 1-4 years’ experience in financial management, specifically in developing and managing budgets in an international development environment.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing and coordinating a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to assume a workload which frequently necessitates an adjustment of priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and attentiveness to detail
  • Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with colleagues across multiple departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced ability working with spreadsheets: strong MS-Excel skills required.
  • Familiarity with US government contracting rules and regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of USAID regulations preferred.
  • Experience applying FAR, and AIDAR preferred.
  • Language: English required, other languages desirable
  • MS Office productivity tools (e.g. Word, Excel. Powerpoint)
  • Experience with Deltek’s CostPoint application desirable
