Learning and Development Manager , Thailand

The Learning and Development Manager works collaboratively with the Area Office Human Resources Director and the Manager, Leadership and Governance Development to develop and support area-wide organizational strategies that will increase the quality and impact of Habitat programs through the integrated delivery of resources and training programs, technology and skills transfer, research, knowledge management, and interdepartmental collaboration.

DUTIES/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Develop and implement strategies and frameworks for organizational learning that enable AP AO and NO staff to acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required to carry out their work effectively.
  2. Collaborate with the HR Director in the assessment, development and implementation of an integrated area capacity building plan based on area priorities and strategy.
  3. Provide leadership to area capacity building projects/initiatives in alignment with the area and global capacity building framework and strategies.
  4. Take oversight of knowledge management systems at area level, working collaboratively with the IS Manager and relevant HQ departments.
  5. Work collaboratively with the Manager, Leadership and Governance Development to build the capacity of leaders in Area and National Offices in using various methodologies of change leadership and management.
  6. Facilitate programs that strengthen trust, alignment and collective ownership of change.
  7. Provide tools for effective change leadership and management.

Required Skills:

  1. 5+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in Knowledge Management
  2. 3+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in Community of Practice facilitation and support
  3. 3+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in managing projects from conceptualization to completion
  4. 3+ years’ experience in designing and delivery of capacity building programs
  5. Community development experience preferred
  6. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  7. Formal instruction in training methodologies and/or certification in adult education
  8. Ability to work effectively in a team
  9. Experience working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures throughout Asia
  10. Ability to communicate, affirm and apply the foundational values and principles of HFHI in decisions, recommendations and actions while carrying out work assignments
  11. Well-developed understanding of strategic organizational learning, capacity building, knowledge management and change management methodologies
  12. Understanding of adult learning methodologies, both for groups and individuals
  13. Knowledge and understanding of the humanitarian industry, including how INGOs operate in the global, regional and local context; understanding of HFHI current ministry and operations will be preferred
  14. Ability to expresses ideas, thoughts and concepts clearly and effectively verbally and in writing, also taking into account cross-cultural and language sensitivities
  15. Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  16. Demonstrates effective computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Intranet and Internet and various software applications and databases used in work efforts
  17. Experience with Knowledge Management software preferred
  18. Well-developed group facilitation skills
  19. Ability to train others in learning methodologies and facilitation skills
  20. Fluency in written and spoken English with other Asia Pacific languages an asset
