With funding from the AHRC, the Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World and the British Council/Morocco are offering a postgraduate internship of up to 6 months, beginning in autumn 2012 and based in the British Council’s head office in Rabat.
The internship offers an opportunity to develop experience in the international cultural and educational exchange field through practical work assignments focussing on education outreach between Morocco and the UK but with duties ranging across many of the British Council’s local programmes and activities. The intern will follow the British Council office’s working hours and will be expected to work full-time.
Applicants should have an interest in research and policy formation on global educational exchange, specifically in the Arab world, with a readiness to use Arabic as well as English (and possibly French) in research as well as everyday exchange.
The internship is open to UK based students and graduates, either having finished a Masters degree in a relevant field or enrolled in a PhD programme with the possibility to get a study leave for the duration of the internship.
We pay an internship allowance based on British Council practices, plus economy air travel UK-Morocco-UK. The intern is responsible for her/his own living accommodations, visas, personal insurance, etc.
