Pathfinder International is currently seeking a strong, experienced leader to manage a portfolio of complex international sexual and reproductive health programs. As a specialist in international public health and manager of sexual reproductive health programs, the Program Director has oversight of a portfolio of country office programs. Leading a Country Management Team, the Program Director oversees staff members who serve as primary headquarters backstops for the country programs. S/he serves as the Headquarters representative for these country programs, and is responsible for providing programmatic and operational support, serving as a liaison between Country Offices and Headquarters departments, and assisting with country program strategies, proposals, work plans, assessments, implementation, budgeting and monitoring and evaluation.


The right candidate for this key role at Pathfinder will be an individual who:

• Is a proven successful manager of international family planning, sexual and reproductive health programs;
• Understands and cares about the connections between population and reproductive health to the: environment, human rights, gender equality, educational access and economic stability;
• Is seeking mission driven work with a global reach; and
• Thrives in a highly collegial and intellectually stimulating atmosphere.


Requirements include:

• Master’s degree in public health, public administration, or related field.
• At least ten years of experience related to the design, implementation, monitoring and management of family planning, sexual and reproductive health programs, preferably in a developing country.
• Knowledge of regulations and requirements of USAID, CDC and other donor agencies.
• Demonstrated skills in strategic planning, management, fiscal accountability, fundraising and problem solving.
• Ability and experience in management of a diverse and multi-cultural staff.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
• Strong French speaking and writing skills preferred but not required.
