Technical Associate (Electrical) ICRISAT

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for Technical Associate (Electrical), to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.

Responsibilities:

  • To operate, repair and maintain all the electrical equipment and installations up to 33KV and captive power plants up to 1500KVA.
  • Maintenance of 11KVand 415V overhead lines
  • Connection, testing and commissioning of all types of relevant research equipments and utility switchgears like ACBs, VCBs, MOCBs, BOCBs, etc.
  • Mechanical maintenance and repairs of Electro-mechanical equipment like seed processing, seed drying, plant equipment and laundry, kitchen equipment and evaporative coolers
  • To execute jobs of wiring and new installations.
  • To carry out jobs as per the daily work schedule, and report the progress.
  • To assist in providing un-interrupted power supply.
  • Execution of operations, maintenance and repairs as per schedules and in shifts
  • Follow safety and quality standards
  • Capable of mobilizing and transporting resources during break downs independently
  • Knowledge of electrical acts and rules
  • Participate and assist in Institute events.

Competencies:

  • Should be able to speak (Telugu, Hindi, and English) & read / write simple English.
  • Should be a good team player and adaptable to work in multicultural team.
  • Should be willing to stay at site for attending emergencies after office hours and on holidays.

Requirements:

  • ITI in the respective field + Wireman permit (APSEB) with 5-6 years relevant experience.
  • Possessing a valid RTA, Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is preferable.
  • Age: Below 40 years.

General:
The position is for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
