Technical Associate (Automobiles) ICRISAT

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for Technical Associate (Automobiles), to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.

Responsibilities:

• To carry out repair and maintenance jobs independently in the automobile shop responsible for the maintenance of a fleet of imported vehicles (Sedans, Station Wagons, Pick-Ups, Mini / Micro Buses of Indian and imported makes..
• Carry out preventive, repair maintenance and major overhauls on vehicles.
• Should be highly skilled and good at trouble shooting diagnosis on the latest systems of automobiles used in the institute.
• Assist in spare parts ordering and jobs connected to outsourcing.
• To carry out jobs as per the daily work schedule, and report the progress.
• Follow safety and quality standards
• Should show initiative to be available beyond normal working hours / off days, as and when required

Competencies:

• Should be able to speak (Telugu, Hindi, and English) & read / write simple English.
• Should be a good team player and adaptable to work in multicultural team.
• Basic proficiency in use of computers.

Requirements:

• ITI (Automobiles) with 3yrs of relevant experience.
• Valid RTA Light Motor Vehicle Driving License

General:
The position is for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
