Trainee Process Technicians Australia Sunrise Dam

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents. AGA employs over 62,000 people globally. In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine in which it has a 70% interest and is manager. Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%. The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.

Tropicana is the most significant gold discovery in Australia over the last decade and this new, large scale open pit gold operation will produce 3.45 million ounces over a 10 year mine life. Construction began in 2011 and first gold is due by the December quarter of 2013.

Located in the Laverton region, Sunrise Dam is one of WA's premier gold mines. This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces about 350,000 ozpa of gold.

We are seeking Trainee Process Technicians who will undertake a Metalliferous Mining Operations (Processing) Certificate II qualification over a 12 month traineeship period where you will learn all aspects of the Process Technician role. Positions are expected to commence over the next six months and will initially be based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Upon completion of the traineeship, some trainees will be offered an opportunity to transfer to the Tropicana Gold Mine as a Process Technician.

These trainee roles offer people in the local Goldfields community with no prior experience the opportunity to obtain a nationally recognised qualification and a terrific start to their career in the mining industry.

These roles are based on a FIFO roster from Kalgoorlie-Boulder direct to Sunrise Dam.
