Brief description: DFID has a number of current, or anticipated, vacancies for education advisers in country or regional programmes. The majority of these are based overseas, most notably in fragile environments. Any UK vacancies will be located in the DFID office in Scotland.
DFID has a number of current, or anticipated, vacancies for education advisers in country or regional programmes. The majority of these are based overseas, most notably in fragile environments. Any UK vacancies will be located in the DFID office in Scotland.
DFID’s Education advisers lead and support agendas relating to improving educational and skills focused outcomes for some of the most vulnerable communities in the developing world. DFID is particularly interested in recruiting education advisers with knowledge and experience in Early Childhood Development; managing and delivering complex education programmes in fragile states and international educational policy development.
DFID has current, or anticipated,education adviser vacancies, with an immediate vacancies in Bangladesh, and other posts likely in the near future.
Education advisers play a major role in:
- analysis and the formulation of policies for country aid strategy;
- establishing close and constructive relationships and networks with partners in country, regionally and internationally;
- identification, design, commissioning and monitoring the implementation and impact of programmes and policies in areas covered by DFID’s education advisers;
- design and monitoring the impact of education aspects of programmes and policies in other priority areas for development such as governance and conflict and health;
- working with other Whitehall departments on a broad range of education related issues relevant to developing countries.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and experience across the range of education technical competences and the required developing country experience in the selection process, drawing on their familiarity with policy guidance, best practice guidelines and practical examples from experience in which they have been involved.
