The Reward Manager is accountable for developing reward solutions that enable Diageo to attract and retain talent and to motivate our people to deliver superior performance. The geographical remit for this role will primarily be Diageo businesses in Africa but the role is part of the Global Reward team and will contribute to reward strategy and programmes on a global basis. Dimensions of the role a) Market Complexity The Reward Manager needs to think broadly about stakeholder management and “global versus local” issues and opportunities and be able to use great judgment to get the right solution. This role is a strategic business partner for the regional leadership team and will work closely with the market HRDs and market leadership teams on key projects. b) Leadership Responsibilities Takes the leadership role on specific reward/ business projects and engages key stakeholders at the most senior levels throughout the region and global stakeholders. Top 3-5 accountabilities Partner with market HRDs on development of market reward strategies that the business can apply to attract, motivate and retain the best talent at an affordable cost. Provides internal consulting to the markets on key reward enablers including market data acquisition and analysis, salary management, job evaluation, competitive mix determination, incentive plan design, policy development, employee retention plans and total reward communications For the annual reward cycle, integral in developing the budget recommendations with the markets and ensuring review and sign off at regional level. Develops the reward guidelines and leads the reward process with the HRDs in the markets. Also, partners with the markets and regional team on Level 2 and 3 offers in line with OMR principles. Builds reward capability in market HR teams in Africa through needs analysis plus the design and delivery of interventions. Provide guidance to the regional team in relation to any new market expansion including M&A due diligence and integration and reward strategy for any joint ventures or associated companies Qualifications and experience required • HR experience including managerial and professional Reward experience with a focus on reward design and implementation. • Degree qualified. • Fluency in English is required Reward Manager Africa
