RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead the strategy development process for the office with clear, measurable short-term and long-term targets.
- Ensure that Ministry strategies are aligned with Regional, Partnership strategic priorities and the country specific strategic guidelines / priorities.
- Coordinate the quality assurance meetings for the Senior Management Team and the Expanded Management Team and ensure agreed action plans are implemented.
- Provide strategic direction and support to the Program and Resource Development team resulting in the successful proposal development process and acquisition of funds. This will include ensuring that the unit has a resource development strategy and implementation plan to generate funds from multilateral, bilateral, foundations and corporations in partnership with WV Support Offices around the world. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and pro-active in seeking partners and new grant opportunities.
- Support the ND in the engagement and building of strategic alliances with the government of the country, major donor agencies, WV Partnership, non-governmental agencies, churches and media.
- Ensure procurement, logistics and all other support services transactions are carried out in accordance with WVI financial guidelines, policies and procedures.
- At a minimum a Master’s degree in development related fields or related field of study.
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience of Ethiopian culture; preferably with track record of leading transformational development projects/programs within the country.
- 10-15 years at management/leadership level, out of which at least three (3) years in senior position.
- Results oriented leader who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands.
- Adept at both strategic and future planning while ensuring daily support services operations are functioning smoothly and efficiently to support the on-going integrated programming at the field level.
- Proven knowledge of and experience with the international donor community and the ability to effectively lead public and private acquisition efforts.
- Strong public relations/compelling communication skills are essential.
- Excellent English language skills.
