Position Overview:

The Data Research Analyst conducts research for common equity securities and Bond and Eurobond securities using issuer filings, company news, press releases, news publications, and research studies and through engagement with issuers and institutions.
Collect, translate and summarize financial, industry and corporate governance information related to shareholder, bond holder and Eurobond meetings, translates proxy materials into English and applies internal codes based on ISS' definitions and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Review different country publications, financial web-sites to obtain proxy information on publicly traded companies in different markets;
  • Update database with proxy information and update database with company, security and meeting related information;
  • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment, and shareholder issues gathered through fundamental research and engagement with company executives, and government/regulatory/listing authorities;
  • Contact companies to obtain proxy materials and other meeting related information;
  • Code each resolution on a company’s annual general meeting agenda into a standardized format as requested;
  • Gather data based on information in the company’s public documents;
  • Analyze corporate governance practices of listed companies;
  • Contribute to the research department through profiling of listed companies;
  • Participate and conduct research to help policy formulation and update efforts;
  • Update market guidelines and intelligence reports;
  • Collaborate with other Data analysts on working committees and/or projects;
  • Translates proxy materials into English and apply internal codes based on ISS' definitions and guidelines.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent;
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in a financial environment;
  • Analytical ability and financial understanding of investment issues;
  • Understanding of corporate governance issues, corporate transactions and capital markets;
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Capacity to work independently as well as ability to work within a team-oriented environment;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Strong organizational skills & ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal with large quantities of work;
  • Fluency in English AND German OR Russian is required. Additional fluency in French and/or Polish and/or Dutch would be an advantage.
