Do you want to make a positive difference to the lives of millions around the world?
Build on the success of Oxfam GB. Play a key role in defining Oxfam International’s global strategy. Control a budget of over £385m. Lead and inspire a 5000-strong workforce. And influence decision making here and internationally.
The role
Any Chief Executive role carries tremendous responsibility, but none more so than this. Providing the strategic management and leadership behind Oxfam GB’s campaigning, development and humanitarian work, the direct impact of your stewardship will be felt in more than 50 countries. And since Oxfam GB is the largest of the 17 affiliates in Oxfam’s international network, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our overall strategy and assume a wide range of global responsibilities too.
What we’re looking for
A challenge as diverse and far-reaching as this demands a special combination of skills and experience. A true visionary and a bold strategist, you’ll need proven board-level leadership skills together with some experience of living/working in the global North and South. But as well as being an inspirational leader, you’ll need the confidence and credibility to build relationships at the highest levels, to influence decision-makers and represent Oxfam GB on the world stage. Underpinning it all, of course, will be your own determination to end poverty and injustice, your passion for life and absolute conviction that everyone in the world should be treated equally.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam GB. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty and suffer injustice. It’s unacceptable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. With the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
The role is based in Oxford, UK and the salary is commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
