The Position:

The ideal candidate would be responsible for writing and publishing web content; maintaining and updating web pages/blogs; monitoring and responding to user-contributed website content; and participating in social media efforts for the department. Writing and editing professional reports and scripts will also be part of the job. Working in coordination with different departments to ensure professional presentation and availability of up-to-date information on the web.

Major duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

•Understanding the hospitals strategic priorities and develop a web strategy that meets these goals.

•Updating and improving the hospital webpage, including visual design, information architecture, technical features and interactivity including new media.

•Ensuring compliance with web policy and the governance process for all businesses.

•Working with web team in development of business applications for AKU,H webpage including Web 2.0 initiatives.

•Using web analytics to inform development priorities for the site.

•Ensuring continuous implementation of Web Performance Optimization.

•Monitoring industry trends and recommend how new technologies can be incorporated in the overall web direction and policies of the AKUH webpage.

•Exploring, promoting and supporting new technologies.

The Requirements

•A Master's degree in English Literature/Mass Communication/Business Administration from a reputable institution.

•3 to 4 years of work experience, preferably in the content writing, copy writing, or communication in a large organization set up.

•Background of working for a health care or public health environment is desirable.

•Knowledge and experience in established best practices for web authoring, standards compliance and accessibility, and testing methodologies.

•Excellent English Writing Skills is a must.

•A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team.

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail.

•Knowledge of emerging web trends, technologies and practices.

•Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects.

•Ability to manage in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
