Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator will be responsible for providing project and administrative support to the priorities of the Development department including donor cultivation, special events, major gifts, planned giving, and stewardship. This position requires superior oral & written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate in a team environment and build relationships with colleagues as well as with external constituents. The Development Coordinator will have minor administrative and travel planning duties for the Director of Development and development team.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist Development team in implementation of key projects including prospect identification and management, stewardship of top-tier donors $1k+, retention and engagement strategies across all constituencies. Works with the Development team to manage the V.E.I.L. assignments for stewardship and donor engagement.
  • Responsible for acknowledgement letters for donors $1k+ and working with the Development Officers
  • Works as a member of the Development team on special events including but, not limited to facilitating ticket sales and registration, submitting vendor invoices, updating project plan, research on event venues and donors to special events in targeted cities, event support including staffing registration, and other duties as required depending on the scope of the event.
  • Coordinates Development department meetings, proofread and prepare meeting materials, ensure pre-meeting materials and post-meeting notes are distributed appropriately
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in non-profit fundraising setting
  • Data entry experience and familiarity with relational databases a plus

  • Analytical and Organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects based on changing workloads, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and the ability to think “outside the box” when brainstorming with the CAD team on special events.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work together on a team with multiple areas of responsibility in an energetic and fun environment.
  • Knowledge of research sources and ability to distill large amounts of information for senior executives.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to create and maintain collaborative working relationships with others.
