In cooperation with the Head of Education, Head of School, the Heads of Departments and the Teaching Staff of the Secondary Section, the IB-DP Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of the IB Diploma Program at the Aga Khan School, Dhaka.
Responsibilities:
  • To develop practices and policies that will lead to the authorization of the IB-DP.
  • To establish curriculum documents, policies and procedures that will lead to authorization of the IB-DP.
  • To be familiar with the IB regulations as published in the Vade Mecum and the Coordinator’s Notes.
  • To communicate with the IBO staff at the Regional Office, disseminate relevant information and notices to staff and administration.
  • To establish and maintain a record of completed planners
  • To prepare a calendar in internal school deadlines for the Extended Essay.
  • To administer the Extended Essay procedure, and to render any assistance necessary for both teachers and students.
  • To administer the external and mock examinations in cooperation with the School’s Examinations Officer.
  • To coordinate the internal assessment for all subjects.
  • To coordinate, in a timely manner, examination papers, and all other pertinent assessment work for marking/moderation.
  • To orient students to the online system for the retrieval of their IB results.
  • To review IB results with IB teachers and Heads of Departments as a means for improving program delivery and learning outcomes.
  • To monitor and support delivery of the IB curriculum.
  • To assist in identifying staff development needs and facilitate staff development opportunities for all faculty.
  • To work with the Heads of Departments and classroom Teachers in planning, presenting and assessing teaching and learning.
  • To ensure that all IB students are properly counseled and registered for external examinations in their final year.
  • To provide for colleagues teaching the IB program the appropriate professional development and support as well as the dissemination of all pertinent information.
  • To provide a counseling service for students to enable them to make appropriate decisions in setting up and monitoring their individual programs.
  • To provide information and counseling for parents, to enable them to have a thorough understanding of the IB program in general as well as their own child’s individual program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction from an accredited university
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Head of department/teacher of a School at a reputable international school 
  • Minimum 2 years IB DP experience
  • Excellent team-building skills, with proven experience in leading, motivating and empowering people.
  • Have a good grasp of curriculum management, design, implementation and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be innovative, dynamic, enthusiastic and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, presentation and ICT skills.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Able to travel frequently within or outside Bangladesh.
