Senior Regulatory/Financial/Credit Market Expert

The Institute of International Finance is the world’s largest global association of financial institutions with over 450 members in more than 70 countries. We provide economic analysis to our members, act as a vehicle for exchanging views on global regulatory issues, and serve as a forum for engaging the private financial community in discussions with the public sector on global financial policy issues.
The Senior Regulatory/Financial/Credit Market Expert will help to organize and lead the IIF's effort in analyzing the cumulative impact of regulatory changes on the positions of financial services firms, including changes in their business models, and on market structures and practices.  He/she will analyze possible linkages between these changes and their effects on output and employment growth as a result of any resulting changes in the efficacy and cost of financial intermediation. In accomplishing these objectives, this position has various day-to-day responsibilities, including gathering and evaluating data; preparing reports, studies and/or forecasts on significant regulatory issues using statistical and economic analysis techniques; and serving as a technical expert. The position will receive guidance in terms of priorities, work program and quality control from the IIF's regulatory, economic and capital markets groups. He/she will report to the IIF's Executive Managing Director.
Applicants should have a graduate degree, preferably a Ph.D., and at least 10 years of experience in credit and capital market analysis related to financial markets and institutions, especially during periods of rapid regulatory change. Experience should include: the design of studies and the development and testing of theories and economic models; knowledge of econometrics, statistical analysis, modeling techniques, and financial analytical tools and software necessary to accomplish such analysis; proven skill in interpreting industry forecasts, verifying the validity of the techniques used to generate such forecasts, tracking economic trends in related industries, and interpreting potential impact. The ability to write clear, concise and informative reports and to present the results of research and analysis effectively in oral or written form is also required. International experience and perspectives are highly desirable.
