Job Summary

​Cardno TEC, Inc. is currently recruiting for a part-time Senior Project Manager with an environmental engineering background to manage projects related to environment and construction matters for Cardno TEC clients. Amount of working hours will vary based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Direct project team members (employees and consultants) at all levels to ensure a profitable, timely, and technically accurate project
  • Coordinate with the Accounting Division on contract administration matters
  • Consult with clients to determine project plans and schedules
  • Plan layouts of projects and integrate component elements into unified design for client review and approval
  • Represent Cardno TEC in obtaining bids
  • Prepare studies and reports
  • Prepare bid proposals for identified opportunities
  • Directly supervise numerous employees and at times subcontractors involved in the project
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws

  • Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment
  • BS degree in relevant discipline, or four years of experience in a technical capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 20 years of experience in the Environmental or Engineering consulting business
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral presentation
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Ability to exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
  • Ability to use extensive working knowledge of all administrative procedures necessary to complete the contract documents to obtain permits
  • Ability to use working knowledge of all consultant work to maintain efficiencies and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence
Training and Experience:
  • Experience with Federal Agency/DOD planning and budget/contracting procedures
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Expertise in MS Office
  • Superior leadership and management skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Environmental project management experience with DoD clients
  • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation & Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) experience to include: site characterization, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial action design, remedial action construction, long term operations and monitoring, and remedial process optimization
  • Performance-based Contract project management experience is highly desired
