Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is seeking a temporary Coordinator to support the Development Operations Unit’s activities in Europe. The Development Operations Coordinator is part of the five-person Operations and Data Management Unit and will report to the Director of Development Operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Interact with Development and Finance Department staff and manage data-related initiatives and projects, including cleanup, data-reporting and global outreach initiatives;
  2. Supervise the gift entry and acknowledgment processes as well as the use of HRW's online donation pages in Europe and Asia;
  3. Coordinate donation processing systems for the Development Department's fundraising operations currently with regard to Europe and Asia;
  4. Provide Raiser's Edge data entry/training/support/ reports, primarily for HRW's offices in Europe and Asia;
  5. Generate gift reports for City Directors;
  6. Coordinate with Development and Legal Department staff on donor data privacy requirements;
  7. Work with outside vendors and other Development staff; and
  8. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working in an operational or technical support role within a fundraising department.

Related Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Advanced knowledge of online fundraising software and database systems, Raiser's Edge is required and experience with Kintera Sphere preferred.
  2. Expertise in database queries, import/export and reporting functions is required.
  3. Full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mail merges and other standard software applications is required.
  4. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English are required; proficiency in French, German, or Arabic is a plus.
  5. Ability to multi-task effectively, including having good planning and organizing skills and ability to work under pressure are required.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills in order to work collaboratively within HRW, as well as with external partners, are required.
  7. Experience working with vendors and colleagues in remote offices is desirable.
Other: Applicants for this position must possess current EU work authorization valid for the duration of the contract.

Contract Duration: Fixed--term contract through February 2015. 

Salary and Benefits: Annualized salary range starts at EUR 33,000. Human Rights Watch offers comprehensive employer-paid benefits.
