The School of Law aspires to be a leading centre of legal research and study for outstanding academics and exceptional students. The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law now wishes to appoint a Head of the School of Law to help deliver this vision and achieve future growth.
The role
  • Provide the leadership necessary to achieve and maintain the quality of teaching, research and contribution to society consistent with the performance of a top UK law school.
  • With the Executive Dean and colleagues in the Faculty management team, make a significant contribution to the development of faculty strategy and policy.
  • Lead, motivate and inspire staff to achieve the School’s ambitious goals, growing the School and increasing its capacity by attracting top talent.
The person
  • An established scholar in any area of Law, able to demonstrate a distinguished research profile and an international reputation.
  • Strategically strong and commercially aware, with proven strength in managing academic staff and the ability to provide motivational leadership at all levels.
  • Driven by the desire to develop the law school into one of the best in the country, underpinned by belief in the importance of cutting edge research and societally-relevant courses.
